Product Description

Father Abbot sends a prayer:
"Help us, Lord! Our cupboard's bare!"

monks-crumbs-to-cook.jpgThe Monks of Archangel Monastery have a dilemma: their cupboards are bare!  But their wise Father Abbot reminds them to trust that Christ will provide their daily bread.  So the monks go about their work, study and prayer, while offering up their belly grumble for the love of God.

This beautifully-illustrated book will be enjoyed by children and their caregivers for its humorous pictures, for fun rhymes reminiscent of Dr. Seuss, and for the heartfelt message of sincere trust in the Lord’s providence.

Monks' Daily Bread is a delightfully illustrated book teaching our little ones the power of prayer, perseverance, endurance in suffering and trust in God's loving providence.

Children will love the whimsical rhymes and parents will love the beautiful life lessons they impart.

Sweet and charming, simple, and yet so profound.

A new favorite in our home!

  2. Simply Adorable! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Jan 2016

Monks daily bread reflects the gentle simplicity of the Christian faith experienced by the monks at Archangel Monastery. With charming illustrations and rhyming; in cadence similar to Madeline. Although the story takes place at a monastery, children will easily grasp that its message holds true to all who trust in God for their daily needs.
    Based on Philippians 4:19, which......
    "Father Abbot,
    Very wise,
    Asks you please,
    To memorize.
Wonderful for young children or a fun read to. One of the few stories of faith where I actually love the illustrations!

  3. In the Footsteps of Beloved Children's Classics 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Jan 2016

The Monks' Daily Bread follows in the footsteps of beloved children’s classics. I’m talking about "Goodnight, Moon" and "Sheep in a Jeep."

These are the books you read to your little ones over and over, because they are whimsical, beautifully illustrated, and lyrically charming.

If you are a parent, you know that you will have to read your books over and over to your kids, and you really want to have something beautiful, clever and perfectly suited to the child’s soul.

The Monks' Daily Bread is just such a book. You (and your children) will love it. And you will happily read it over and over.

  4. Catchy, fun rhymes, deep message 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Dec 2015

This is a wonderful children's book in its own right; the kind you'll find your children reciting parts of throughout the day. The message - God will provide - is simple, profound, and beautifully communicated.

    I highly recommend this book!

Excellent book for children. Good way to introduce non-Catholic children to a little piece of the church.
