Product Description

When the Sovereign ruled Cor Nova, the shipmasters ruled the sky. But now that the Imperium Titus controls the land, every ship sails on the edge of a knife.
Quick-witted young airman Cyprian Fields is prepared for just about anything. But during his service as the deckmaster of the Philomena, the intrepid boy officer's world is turned upside down with the sudden arrival of mysterious young physician Basil Black and rebellious stowaway Veronica Stromm.
As quickly as the wind changes, Cyprian and Philomena's ragtag crew are thrown into a perilous adventure that will take them to the furthest reaches of air, land, and sea. In the midst of whispering Silverspoons and murderous admirals, printing presses and aetherolabes, fleets and fortresses, Cyprian, Veronica, and Basil must stand together against the might of the Imperium. To win this fight, they will have to rely on their courage, wits, and the rickety airship beneath their feet.
Winner of the 2014 Tuscany Prize for Young Adult Fiction
"Verdict: PHILOMENA: A TALE FROM THE COR NOVAN SKY ALMANAC is a work of spectacular imagination and intricately worked plot at its finest, combining to form a richly engrossing narrative that moves quickly and ends too soon."
