After the catastrophic events at the end of Book II, Allie Weaver falls into depression. Feeling that her classmates at John Paul 2 High are avoiding her or too busy fixing up the school, Allie finds solace in a vibrant Evangelical church. Is she gone for good?

Meanwhile, a vandal seems to be doing everything possible to hinder the renovation of JP2 High. Liz persuades Brian to join her in a secret investigation to discover the identity of the vandal....until he's called upon to befriend the one student he understands the least: Allie!
